CROSS-JAPAN LUXURY GOLF JOURNEY
Osaka to Tokyo
Luxury Golf Journey
Three couples from the United States travelled from Osaka to Tokyo on an eleven-day private golf journey, combining four distinctive golf courses, Kyoto heritage, a private geisha cultural experience, two nights at an onsen ryokan, Kawana’s coastal golf resort and private transportation in two Toyota Alphards.
THE BRIEF
Every transfer was designed with purpose
This journey began at Kansai Airport and progressed through Osaka, Kyoto, Atami, Izu Kawana and Tokyo. Crossing western, central and eastern Japan requires more than placing destinations on a map. Without careful planning, the result can be excessive driving, frequent hotel changes and unnecessary pressure when moving luggage and golf bags.
Miramar arranged the journey around golf-course locations, accommodation quality, cultural experiences and realistic daily driving times. Hanna opened the Kansai section, Izu Ohito connected naturally with the Atami ryokan stay, and the two Kawana courses formed the golf finale before travelling to Tokyo.
Golf and culture in western Japan
The journey opened in Osaka with Hanna Country Club, followed by dedicated time in Kyoto’s historic districts. Golf, city life and traditional culture were allowed to complement one another rather than compete for time.
Ryokan stays and coastal golf
After travelling from Kyoto to Atami, the group stayed two nights at a ryokan before playing Izu Ohito, Kawana Oshima and Kawana Fuji. This became the most concentrated golf section of the journey.
A relaxed Tokyo finale
Following the final round at Kawana Fuji, the group continued to Tokyo for shopping, dining and independent city experiences before staggered airport transfers.
PRIVATE CROSS-REGION TRANSPORT
Why two Alphards instead of one HiAce
Six travellers could technically have travelled together in one Toyota HiAce. However, this itinerary covered a considerable distance across several regions while carrying large suitcases and golf bags.
Miramar therefore arranged two Toyota Alphards. Each couple had more personal space, luggage and golf equipment could be distributed between both vehicles, and the golfers and sightseeing companions could follow different programmes when required.
JOURNEY ROUTE
Entering through Kansai and travelling east to Tokyo
The itinerary avoided unnecessary backtracking. Each change of accommodation positioned the group for the next golf course, ryokan stay or cultural experience.
FOUR ROUNDS
Four courses from Osaka to the Kawana finale
The four rounds were placed according to geography and journey rhythm. Hanna introduced golf in Kansai, Izu Ohito followed the Atami ryokan stay, and Kawana Oshima and Fuji completed the journey with two consecutive coastal experiences.
Hanna Country Club
Located in the hills near Osaka, Hanna combines elevation changes, demanding landing areas and strategic short-game decisions. It provided a natural introduction to Japanese golf at the beginning of the Kansai section.
Izu Ohito Country Club
Izu Ohito combines broad views of the Izu landscape with a relaxed resort-course atmosphere. Returning to the same Atami ryokan after golf allowed the round, kaiseki dinner and onsen stay to form one complete day.
Kawana Hotel Golf Course — Oshima Course
Ocean views, coastal wind and naturally rolling terrain create a memorable yet relaxed golf experience. Oshima introduced the group to the distinctive rhythm of a Kawana golf-resort stay.
Kawana Hotel Golf Course — Fuji Course
Designed by C.H. Alison and shaped by the natural coastline, sea wind, elevated terrain and traditional walking-caddie format, Kawana Fuji provided a fitting and memorable conclusion to the golf journey.

CULTURE BETWEEN ROUNDS
Beyond golf: culture, ryokan and city life
Golf was only one part of this journey. The three couples also experienced Osaka’s lively night-time atmosphere, Kyoto’s historic districts and traditional Japanese hospitality before continuing to Atami, Kawana and Tokyo.
A private geisha cultural experience introduced another side of Japan through traditional dress, music, dance and refined entertainment. This was planned as a genuine cultural component of the journey rather than a brief sightseeing stop.
After Kyoto, the pace shifted to ryokan stays, kaiseki dining and the coastal landscape of Izu. The journey concluded in Tokyo with fine dining, shopping and the city’s night-time atmosphere.

Eleven-day journey summary
Separate Kansai Airport arrivals and Osaka check-in
The two Alphards handled different arrival times before the group gathered at its Osaka accommodation.
Hanna Country Club and Osaka
The golfers played Hanna while accompanying guests could follow a separate Osaka or Nara programme.
Osaka to Kyoto, Higashiyama and Gion
A full cultural day introduced Kyoto’s historic streets, temples and traditional districts.
Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji and Kyoto
The schedule preserved a complete Kyoto experience without golf or a long-distance transfer.
Kyoto to Atami
The cross-region journey continued to Atami, followed by a ryokan stay, kaiseki dinner and onsen.
Izu Ohito Country Club and Atami
After golf in the Izu hills, the group returned to the same ryokan for a second evening.
Kawana Oshima Course and Kawana Hotel
The group entered the coastal golf-resort section of the journey and stayed at Kawana Hotel.
Kawana Fuji Course and Tokyo
After the final round, the group travelled from Kawana to Tokyo.
Independent Tokyo experiences
Guests selected their preferred combination of sightseeing, shopping, dining and leisure.
Tokyo and staggered airport transfers
The vehicles supported city activities and separate departure requirements.
Tokyo to Narita Airport
The main group completed the journey with a private airport transfer.
Extensions and individual departures
Additional hotel stays and separate airport transfers could be arranged for guests departing on different dates.
