Four couples travelled through Mt Fuji, Hakone, Atami and Kawana on a carefully coordinated journey. The husbands played golf while the wives enjoyed sightseeing, onsen, dining and cultural experiences, with private transport connecting each day and stay.

Nine-Day Journey
Arrival in Japan · Transfer to Fuji Kawaguchiko
A private arrival transfer led directly to Fuji Kawaguchiko and Onsenji Yumedono. The first day remained intentionally light, allowing time to recover and begin the journey with a private onsen and Japanese dinner.
Mt Fuji Sightseeing and Onsen
The second day kept a relaxed pace for jet-lag recovery and time around Mt Fuji, with a second night at the same ryokan instead of an immediate hotel change.
Sanko Golf Club Fuji Course
The first round was followed by a transfer to HOTEL CLAD in Gotemba, positioning the group for local activities and the following day’s course.
Taiheiyo Club Gotemba WEST
After the second round, the group continued to Hakone Gora Byakudan for a private onsen and kaiseki dinner, shifting the journey into a quieter resort rhythm.
Hakone Rest and Private Onsen
The day focused on Hakone scenery, onsen and the ryokan itself, leaving genuine time to rest after consecutive rounds.
Susono Country Club and an Atami Cultural Evening
After the third round, the journey continued to Atami and Furuya Ryokan, with kaiseki dining and a geisha cultural programme that evening.
Kawana Fuji Course and Kawana Hotel
The journey’s defining coastal round took place at Kawana Fuji Course, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Kawana Hotel.
Return to Tokyo
After leaving the Izu Peninsula, the group returned to Tokyo and stayed at Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro, preserving time for shopping and independent city activities.

Onsenji Yumedono
A private onsen ryokan in Fuji Kawaguchiko, providing a quiet beginning for the first two nights.
Two nights at Onsenji Yumedono allowed the group to recover after arrival without changing hotels immediately. Rooms included open-air baths, while breakfast and kaiseki dinner introduced the service and pace of a Japanese onsen ryokan.
HOTEL CLAD
A modern Gotemba stay balancing Mt Fuji views and practical access.
HOTEL CLAD provided a practical transition between the Mt Fuji courses and Hakone. Its Gotemba location, natural onsen and proximity to the Premium Outlets offered both rest and independent time after golf.

Hakone Gora Byakudan
An elevated Hakone ryokan centred on private onsen, mountain scenery and refined kaiseki dining.
Gora Byakudan followed the consecutive rounds and provided uninterrupted rest. A private open-air bath, breakfast, dinner and seasonal kaiseki made the stay an experience in its own right rather than another sightseeing stop.
Atami Furuya Ryokan
A traditional Atami stay combining onsen and Japanese banquet culture.
Furuya Ryokan brought together Atami onsen, kaiseki dining and a geisha cultural programme within a traditional banquet setting of dance, music and hospitality.
Placed after the third round, this evening shifted the journey from golf into Atami’s onsen and cultural traditions.
Kawana Hotel
A classic coastal golf resort connected directly with Kawana’s courses.
Kawana Hotel was chosen to keep the group within the resort after golf, minimise transfers and extend the coastal experience through dinner and the overnight stay.
With its classic architecture, Pacific views and direct relationship with the courses, Kawana Hotel formed an essential part of the golf experience rather than simply an overnight stop.
Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro
A convenient Tokyo stay for city time, shopping and the onward departure.
The final night at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro provided free time in the city and convenient access for the next day’s airport transfer.

The Brief
More Than a Golf Journey
The group comprised four couples from the United States. Four husbands wanted to play representative Japanese courses, while their wives preferred sightseeing, onsen and cultural experiences around Mt Fuji, Hakone, Atami and Izu.
The planning challenge was not simply course selection. Golfers and non-golfers needed suitable daytime programmes while still returning to the same accommodation to dine, rest and spend the evening together.
The itinerary also had to integrate golf around Mt Fuji, onsen in Hakone and Atami, kaiseki dining, geisha culture, Kawana’s coastal course and private transport. Accommodation was selected for its relationship with each course, the sightseeing route, daily driving and dinner plans.
Rather than making long daily returns from Tokyo, Miramar arranged accommodation in the geographic sequence of Mt Fuji, Gotemba, Hakone, Atami and Kawana, giving both groups a comfortable and coherent rhythm.

Each course connected with that evening’s stay and the next stage, avoiding unnecessary long-distance returns.
Non-Golf Programme
While the golfers played, four companions enjoyed Mt Fuji scenery, Hakone, Atami, onsen, shopping and Japanese cultural experiences.
The companion programme prioritised manageable walking, travel time and daily pace, with everyone reuniting at the same accommodation each evening.

Journey Route
The route moved gradually from Mt Fuji toward the Izu Peninsula before returning to Tokyo. It reduced backtracking, preserved rest and connected each stay naturally with the following day’s course.
Dining & Culture
Dining as an Integral Part of the Journey
Dinner experiences varied by region and were selected to complement the pace and character of each stay.
The dining plan included seasonal kaiseki at Fuji Kawaguchiko, meals at HOTEL CLAD, refined kaiseki at Hakone Gora Byakudan, a Japanese banquet and geisha programme at Furuya Ryokan, dinner at Kawana Hotel and breakfast at each stay.
The geisha programme took place during dinner at Furuya Ryokan and focused on traditional banquet culture, dance, music and hospitality rather than a standalone stage performance.
Private Transport
Private Transport Shaped around Each Day
Private transport was adjusted around tee times, accommodation and sightseeing, while also carrying golf equipment and luggage and coordinating hotel arrivals across regions.
Its value lay in keeping a multi-region programme of golf and onsen stays operating as one coordinated journey.
