The brief
More than a golf trip
Choosing four good courses was the easy part. The real challenge was giving golfers and non-golfers equally good days — and still ending each evening together for dinner, onsen and rest.
The itinerary also had to bring together golf around Mt Fuji, onsen in Hakone and Atami, kaiseki dining, a geisha evening and Kawana’s coastal course, all connected by private transport.

A spacious opening round near Mt Fuji — an easy introduction to golf in Japan.

Played on the transfer day, ending with onsen and kaiseki in Atami.

Rest days were placed on purpose — after the long flight, and again after two rounds in a row.
Arrival · Transfer to Fuji Kawaguchiko
Private transfer straight to Onsenji Yumedono. A light first day with a private onsen and Japanese dinner.
Mt Fuji sightseeing and onsen
A relaxed day around Mt Fuji to recover from jet lag — a second night at the same ryokan, no packing.
Sanko Golf Club Fuji Course
First round, then on to HOTEL CLAD in Gotemba, close to the next day’s course.
Taiheiyo Club Gotemba WEST
Second round, then to Hakone Gora Byakudan for a private onsen and kaiseki dinner.
Hakone rest day
Hakone scenery, onsen and the ryokan itself — real rest after two rounds in a row.
Susono Country Club · Atami evening
Third round, then Furuya Ryokan in Atami for kaiseki and a geisha banquet.

Dinner as part of the journey
Every evening was chosen to match the character of the stay — from seasonal kaiseki in Kawaguchiko and Hakone to dinner at Kawana Hotel.
At Furuya Ryokan, the geisha programme took place during dinner: traditional banquet culture, dance, music and hospitality, rather than a stage show.
