Why this route works

Most Fuji itineraries make the mistake of driving out from Tokyo each morning. This one moves the base to the golf instead: two nights in Fujinomiya for the first two rounds, two in Gotemba for the next two, and only then into Tokyo, where the group has a full free day with no schedule at all. Four rounds in five days, none of them starting with a two-hour drive.

Day by day

Day 1

Narita to Fujinomiya

Meet the driver and the on-site assistant in the arrivals hall, then transfer by private coach to Fujinomiya. Depending on the landing time and traffic there is room for a stop at a golf superstore, Gotemba Premium Outlets or a highway service area. Check in, and the evening is free around the station or the shopping mall.

Day 2

Round 1 · Fuji River Golf Club

Breakfast at the hotel and a short morning drive, arriving 45 to 60 minutes before the tee time. Eighteen holes with a self-drive GPS cart and a clubhouse lunch. If the round finishes early there is time for Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha or the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre on the way back.

Day 3

Round 2 · PGM Fuji Chisan Country Club, on to Gotemba

Breakfast and check-out, then the morning round. Afterwards the coach continues to Gotemba, with a scenic stop near Lake Kawaguchi or in the Fuji foothills if time, weather and traffic allow. Check in at the Gotemba hotel; the evening is free.

Day 4

Round 3 · Gotemba Golf Club

A short transfer and eighteen holes with lunch at the clubhouse. Depending on the finishing time the group can stop at Gotemba Premium Outlets or Oshino Hakkai before returning to the same hotel.

Day 5

Round 4 · Higashi Fuji Country Club, on to Tokyo

Check out with the bags on board, play the final round, then transfer directly to central Tokyo. Check in and the evening is free.

Day 6

Tokyo free day

No vehicle, no driver, no assistant. The group explores independently by train and subway — Ginza, Asakusa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ueno and Akihabara are all within easy reach.

Day 7

Tokyo to Narita

Breakfast and check-out, then a private coach transfer to Narita in time for the afternoon flight. The hotel departure time is set from the hotel location and the expected traffic.

Before you travel

How far ahead should we book?

Three months is comfortable for most dates. Cherry-blossom and autumn weeks, or any date where one specific course matters, need longer.

What are the vehicle hours?

Golf-day vehicle service runs to about ten hours a day. Beyond that, driver overtime applies. The Tokyo free day carries no vehicle or assistant service at all.

What is the dress code?

Collared shirts, golf trousers and proper golf shoes. Denim, collarless shirts and casual footwear are not accepted in the clubhouse.

Anything to prepare?

Golf bag name tags must match the registered player names. We collect that list at booking, so send the names as they appear on the passports.

This is one of five group trips on our Japan group golf hub. Dates, courses and hotel grade are adjusted to your group.

Want this route for your own group?

Send the month, the headcount and how many of you play. We come back with the routed itinerary, the courses we can hold and a per-person figure, usually within three working days.
