Osaka 5-Day Group Golf Trip
Seventeen travelling together, four nights in one hotel in central Osaka and a full-size coach to three Kansai courses. The largest group trip we have operated.
Why this route works
Seventeen people is the point where a golf trip either runs on rails or falls apart. This one ran on rails because of two decisions: one full-size coach instead of a convoy of vans, and one hotel in Honmachi for all four nights, a few minutes from the Shinsaibashi shopping street. Three rounds on three consecutive days, each within reach of the city, and not everyone had to play every round.
Day by day
Day 1
Kansai International to Osaka
The main party lands around midday. After immigration and bag collection the coach takes the group straight into the city, to a hotel in Honmachi beside the Shinsaibashi shopping street. Check-in is from 15:00; no group activity is scheduled, and the evening is free around Honmachi, Shinsaibashi and Namba.
Day 2
Round 1 · Hanna Country Club
Breakfast, then 07:30 from the hotel. Hanna asks for check-in 40 minutes before the tee, so the coach aims to be there by about 08:20. Four groups from the IN tee, self-play with GPS carts, and a lunch allowance at the clubhouse. Back to the city after the round; dinner free.
Day 3
Round 2 · PGM Ikeda Country Club
An 08:15 departure north to Ikeda. Four groups across the Ayaha and Kinukake nines, self-play with GPS carts and the course set lunch included. Check-in is 30 minutes before the tee here.
Day 4
Round 3 · Daitakarazuka Golf Club
An 08:00 departure into Hyogo for the last and highest-graded round of the trip. Five groups across the Ashiya and Rokko nines, and every guest plays. Four-seat GPS carts and the course set lunch included. The final evening in Osaka is free.
Day 5
Osaka to Kansai International
Breakfast, pack and check out by 10:00, then the coach to Kansai International. The pickup time is set from the check-in time for the flight and the expected traffic out of the city.
The courses
Course detail below is as played on the trip. For your own group the courses can be swapped for others in the same region.
Hanna Country Club
A forest course laid out on the natural terrain of the Ikoma range, with genuine elevation change on some holes and a view out over the Osaka plain. It is not a distance course. The fairways thread between trees and undulations, and ponds, bunkers and doglegs make the drive and the second shot the decisions that matter; the closing holes have pronounced water and a strong sense of place. Host of the JLPGA Frisky Osaka Women’s Open from 1999 to 2001.
PGM Ikeda Country Club
Set in the Satsukiyama hills and opened in 1960, one of the older hillside courses near the city. Three nines, each with its own character: Satsukidaira wide and bold, Ayaha smoother but defended by long holes and raised greens, Kinukake the most varied, with carries over water and valleys and marked uphill and downhill shots. Several holes look out over Osaka. The club positions itself as a championship course with a history of professional and JGA amateur competition.
Daitakarazuka Golf Club
Four nines — Takarazuka, Nishinomiya, Ashiya and Rokko — arranged by Ronald W. Fream as two championship eighteens, and a member of PGM’s highest GRAND PGM brand. Takarazuka and Nishinomiya use flatter ground with wide fairways and water in play; Ashiya and Rokko, the pair this group played, carry the real elevation change and put pressure on driving line, second-shot distance and the approach. Views reach across the Osaka plain to Mt. Ikoma and the Hokusetsu hills.

Before you travel
Seventeen people on one vehicle?
Yes — one full-size coach carries the group, the clubs and the luggage together. No convoy to keep together, no reshuffling at each course, and one set of departure times for everyone.
Does everyone have to play every round?
No. On this trip the headcount differed on each of the three days and the tee sheet was built around it. Mixed participation is normal and does not disrupt the schedule.
How early do we reach the course?
Hanna asks for check-in 40 minutes before the tee; Ikeda and Daitakarazuka 30. For a group this size we still aim for 45 to 60 minutes, so that bags, changing and warm-up are unhurried.
How does lunch work?
Each round includes either the course set lunch or an allowance. Upgrades, extra dishes and drinks are settled at the clubhouse counter after the round.
This is one of five group trips on our Japan group golf hub. Dates, courses and hotel grade are adjusted to your group.
